Dmitry A. Pentsov
Dmitry A. Pentsov has been an associate in our Geneva office since 2006.

Dmitry has extensive legal experience in Russia and other Republics of the former Soviet Union. He has represented clients in major domestic and international oil and gas exploration and development projects, the formation of limited partnerships and other investment programmes, the acquisition of oil and gas companies, and the debt and equity financing of these undertakings. He has also represented foreign investors in joint-venture projects with local companies (banking, natural resources, transportation, real estate, telecommunications), as well as domestic and foreign purchasers, sellers and brokers in connection with the purchase and sale of securities, custodial relationships, creation of investment funds and institutions, and brokerage contracts.

Dmitry's past employments include a position as legal counsel for one of the largest Russian natural resource companies, legal counsel for a major New York-based commodities trading company, and an associate position at the Moscow office of one of the leading US law firms.

Dmitry obtained his law degree from the Law Faculty of St. Petersburg State University in 1993 (with Honours) and his Candidate of Legal Sciences Degree in 2000. He also received an LL.M. Degree from Georgetown University Law Center (Washington, DC) in 1995 (Edmund S. Muskie Fellowship, awarded by the United States Information Agency), and a Bachelor Degree from the Law Faculty of the University of Geneva in 2006.

He has published one book and a substantial number of articles on various aspects of international financial markets, bankruptcy law, commercial law and international employment law. His working languages are Russian, English, French and Spanish.

Dmitry is a member of the New York State Bar Association and of the St. Petersburg City Bar Association.
