Alain Gros, Froriep partner, successfully assisted a Russian client against a Russian oligarch before the Geneva Criminal Court of Appeal. The Geneva Prosecutor and the Russian oligarch had filed an appeal against the judgement of the Geneva Criminal Court of First Instance, which acquitted our client. The Prosecutor requested a 24-month jail sentence suspended for 36 months and the Russian oligarch claimed a loss of USD 80 million.
The Geneva Criminal Court of Appeal confirmed the acquittal of our client today, after almost six years of criminal proceedings.
