FRORIEP NexGen Afterwork | 28 May 2019

NexGen Incubator is delighted to invite you to an Afterwork on Tuesday, 28 May 2019 on:

Innovative approach to increasing mobility in rural communities with purpose-built bicycles

Dave Neiswander will speak about World Bicycle Relief’s (WBR) unique model of combining philanthropic bicycle distributions with social enterprise sales and the impact of bicycles on girls’ education.
WBR builds and distributes specially-designed, locally assembled, rugged bicycles – the Buffalo Bicycles – and has over the last 10 years delivered more than 450,000 bicycles addressing the need for reliable and affordable transportation in rural areas of developing countries. This has materialised in concrete and meaningful impact on the economic development, education and healthcare of local communities.

Dave Neiswander was appointed CEO in May 2016 after serving over 9 years as Africa Director of WBR. Based in Zambia and South Africa, Dave helped to build the foundational elements of the organisation including program design, partnership engagement, geographic expansion and the Buffalo Bicycle social enterprise strategy and now leads WBR’s efforts on sustainable and quantifiable impact. Prior to joining WBR, Dave had a 15-year career in investment banking and was a Senior Vice President at FBR Capital Markets in Washington D.C.
