Daniel Haymann – Keynote Speaker at the Webinar ” Medical Use of Cannabis in Switzerland” | 20 April 2021
Global Go is organising a free webinar on “Medical Use of Cannabis in Switzerland: An Analysis of Infrastructure and Regulations” on Tuesday, 20 April 2021 at 5:00 pm CET. On the panel are Daniel Haymann (FRORIEP), Franziska Quadri, Andrew David Petronanos, Christian Werz, Peter Steger and will be moderated by Alfredo Pascual, hosted by Paul Rosen of Global Go.
The Council of States unanimously adopted the amendment to the law on Monday 8th of March 2021. The National Council already agreed in the winter session that it would broaden access to medical cannabis in Switzerland as patients with a prescription would no longer need “exceptional authorisation” from the country’s Federal Office of Public Health. When the amendments to the Narcotics Act (NarcA) will be enacted, every doctor in Switzerland will be able to prescribe medical cannabis. In relation to the Federal Council’s submission, they added that the BAG (Federal Office of Public Health) should still also collect data on side effects when monitoring the therapy. The amendment to the NarcA also regulates the cultivation, manufacture, processing and trading of medical cannabis with a THC content of 1 per cent and above.
